Join us on this amazing workshop to two natural wonders of Croatia and Bosnia.
First we’ll head to the hidden treasure of the region, Una National Park in Bosnia. Three amazing rivers have created deep canyons, wild waterfalls and cascades, all surrounded by pristine forests that turn beautiful colours in autumn. But that’s not all, there are castles and fortresses to be discovered here as well.
Our next destination is the world famous Plitvice Lakes National Park with its exceptional waterfalls and lakes. Autumn is prime time to visit the park; there are fewer tourists, the sun is lower creating nice angles, and forests are ablaze with every colour imaginable. With our expert knowledge you will have access to the best viewpoints at the best times to capture memorable images from both parks.

ITINERARY
Arrive at Una NP
Arrive Zagreb airport and group transfer to Una national park in Bosnia (approx 3 hour drive). We’ll arrive in time to make the most of the afternoon and evening light for photography. Enjoy a hearty home-cooked dinner and get-together on our first night.
Una National Park
We have a full day to explore and photograph Una National Park. Photograph the main sights including the impressive waterfalls of Štrbaćki Buk and Martin Brod. We might use 4×4 cars to access more remote areas of the park. Autumn forests create a beautiful contrast to the turquoise green of the rivers here. To capture this we will visit some lookouts around Unac and Una canyons. This area is renowned for its natural beauty, but also features amazing historical sites and cities including old Turkish fortresses, castles and the towns Kulen Vakuf and Bihać.
Una River – Plitvice Lakes
We’ll start with a morning shoot at Una river or a sunrise from one of the lookouts above the canyon. After breakfast we say farewell to Bosnia and the Una river to drive to another stunning natural park – Plitvice Lakes, Croatia. After check in we’ll head straight to the park for our evening photography and sunset shoot.
Plitvice Lakes NP
We’ll have a full day to photograph the lakes, waterfalls and caves in this incredible UNESCO world heritage site. Here you’ll have the opportunity to try different photography techniques using tripods and long exposures as well as work on composition. Enjoy free time exploring the lakes alone before meeting late afternoon to make the most of the play of golden light and reflections in the water.
Departure from Plitvice Lakes
Morning photography in the park. We will visit one of the sunrise locations at Plitvice lakes or head to nearby Rastoke village where the Korana river created another set of beautiful waterfalls and cascades. Transfer to Zagreb airport to catch your flight home.
We’ll keep our itinerary as flexible as possible to make the best of the weather and light conditions each day, but you can expect the following:
- A daily sunrise/morning session on location
- Return home for a breakfast and some rest
- Day session on location
- A packed lunch or a stop en route and some free time to explore on your own
- A daily dusk/sunset session on location
- Dinner and time to unwind/socialize
- Image review/critique sessions will be included in a flexible manner as time allows (during bad weather, for example, we may spend more time indoors reviewing photos and discussing techniques, composition, and post-processing)
