Experience the magic of autumn photography in Greece during this unique photography tour that combines some of Northern Greece’s most dramatic landscapes with cultural encounters in timeless villages. Our journey takes us from the awe-inspiring Meteora Monasteries to the breathtaking Vikos Gorge, with a visit to atmospheric Ioannina Lake. Along the way, we’ll capture sandstone pinnacles shrouded in mist, medieval monasteries perched high above the valleys, traditional stone bridges, and the vibrant colors of autumn in the Pindus mountains.

Our Greece photography workshop is suitable for photographers of all levels and does not require special physical fitness. A moderate level of fitness is helpful, as we will take short walks around traditional villages and scenic viewpoints overlooking the Meteora monasteries.
Most of our time will be spent outdoors, often on uneven terrain and occasionally with small elevation gains. For your comfort and safety, we recommend bringing sturdy walking shoes or boots – ideally waterproof for wet grass, morning dew, or rain. A light rain jacket is also advisable to keep you comfortable during changing mountain weather.
Greece Photography Workshop ITINERARY
Where ancient culture and dramatic landscapes create endless photo stories.
Day 1:
Arrival in Greece
We meet at Thessaloniki Airport or your city hotel at the agreed time. After introductions, we drive (approx. 3 hrs) to Meteora, one of the world’s most striking landscapes. Following check-in and lunch, we head straight to the cliffs to explore our first viewpoints and get an orientation of the many photographic possibilities. Sunset photography at the monasteries, followed by a welcome dinner.
Days 2 & 3:
Meteora Monasteries Photography
We dedicate two full days to photographing Meteora’s cliff-top monasteries and the towering sandstone pillars that surround them. Expect early morning and evening sessions to capture the best light, with chances of magical mist adding drama to our compositions. During the day, we’ll explore selected monasteries (photography inside is not permitted) and enjoy Greek cuisine in local tavernas.
Day 4:
Ioannina Lake
After a sunrise shoot in Meteora and breakfast, we journey towards Vikos Gorge. Along the way, we stop at Ioannina Lake, famous for its reflective waters and historic island monastery, as well as the 6th-century Ioannina Castle. Later we continue to the mountain village of Monodendri, perched on the edge of Vikos Gorge. Our family-run guesthouse will welcome us with warm hospitality and homemade food.
Days 5 & 6:
Vikos Gorge, Villages & Stone Bridges
We dedicate the next two days to exploring the Zagori region, home to the spectacular Vikos Gorge, traditional mountain villages, and historic stone bridges. We’ll photograph the picturesque villages of Papingo and Vikos, both offering breathtaking views into the gorge, as well as wander through narrow cobbled streets lined with centuries-old stone houses. The following sessions focus on the region’s graceful 17th–18th century arched bridges, which span turquoise rivers and make for striking compositions, especially when framed by the warm colors of autumn. Together, these days offer a perfect blend of dramatic landscapes, cultural heritage, and timeless rural Greece.
Day 7:
Thessaloniki
After a final morning shoot in Vikos Gorge, we make the drive back to Thessaloniki (approx. 4 hrs). Depending on timing, we’ll stop for a farewell photography session in the city – perhaps the White Tower or the Byzantine walls – followed by our farewell dinner in a traditional taverna.
Day 8:
Departure from Greece
After breakfast, transfers to Thessaloniki Airport for your onward journey.
